Walking is a fantastic way to get – and stay – healthy!

One of the reasons health experts give walking rave reviews is because it’s a ‘lifestyle exercise’. That means you can usually make time for it without too much of a change to your daily routine. Walking to work, to the shops, or the final mile from the bus stop may take a little more time, but it’s certainly not the big project that signing up for a gym (and the time or cost to get there) can be.

There is a network of existing walking routes surrounding the development, connecting it to the centre of Stainburn and the facilities this encompasses, including a Spar convenience store and petrol station on Stainburn Road. Provision for pedestrian trips towards the village centre will be enhanced as Story Homes have made a sizeable contribution towards footway improvements at the northern end of Moor Road and the provision of traffic calming features on Moor Road in the vicinity of the site.

Whilst walking will already therefore be a practical option for many local trips, Story Homes have made a sizeable financial contribution to improve walking and cycle links between the development and Derwent Road to the west, making local journeys on foot more attractive and safe.
